Modest clothing has come into Vogue! Your Shabbos Robe is Haute Couture!

I spend most of my days combing Manhattan clothing shops, fabric stores and "trims & novelty" warehouses. At night I fall asleep with " In Style,  or "Vogue "in my hands. I could definitely write a PHD on modern day fashion.
So what's new? Everything! We are returning slowly, surely, with head erect and pride intact to a time of "Innocence".  Gwyneth Paltrow is cited as a trailblazer wearing modest tailored suits and schoolgirl looks. Marc Jacobs dresses his models in knee highs, pleated skirts and frilly blouses. The look is long and lean- and covered up! The belly button will have to hide in shame!

Aren't we lucky! Modest dressing is on the return! Will we lead the trend and innovate or will we chase the fashion runway and copy?
I for one will copy! I will never have the type of exposure that a Celebrity or Parisian designer has. - And if I did I am sure the Jewish clientele would look elsewhere for inspiration.  We have chosen to be different and apart - and yet we are very influenced by everything around us.

The new Raza collection is a reflection of of last year's best sellers and the tailored "Chanel" and "Courege" looks of the future. Last year we played with sheer printed georgettes, frills, cascades, and ruching.  I did everything I could to use sheer " See Through" fabric in a
MODEST fashion. The fabric had to move with the body, be light and airy , but not revealing.
